Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Resella (“we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Resella is a mobile app that helps resellers photograph an item, get an AI generated price estimate and description, save the item to an inventory, track what was paid and the potential profit, scan and organize receipts, and export the inventory to a spreadsheet, and, if you connect a selling account such as eBay, list items there and keep them in sync. This policy covers the app and the website at myresella.com.
1. Who is responsible for your information
Resella is operated by Scholarly Project LLC, located in New York, USA. You can reach us at support@myresella.com.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your name and email address, and manage sign-in through email and password, Google, or Apple.
Item photos. When you scan an item, the app captures a photo using your camera. You can also choose a photo from your library if you enable that.
Item and inventory data. Details you enter or that the app generates, such as item name, category, condition, measurements, the price you paid, the suggested resale price, profit, and any notes or descriptions.
Receipt data. If you scan or add receipts, we store the receipt photo and the details you enter, such as vendor, amount, date, and category.
Connected selling accounts. If you connect an eBay account, we store your eBay user ID and username, the access keys eBay gives us to act on your behalf, and the listing settings you choose, such as your shipping, return, and payment policies and ship-from ZIP code. When you list an item, we send eBay the listing details and photos you approve. To keep your inventory in sync, we read your recent eBay orders to find the items you listed with Resella, and keep only their order number, sale price, fees, and date. We do not store your buyers’ names or addresses.
AI and data processing. To identify an item, estimate a price and write a description, the item photo and the details you enter are processed by our AI and market-data providers. To fill in a receipt, the receipt photo is processed by an AI provider. To clean up a photo’s background, that photo is processed by an image-processing provider. When you use Ask Resella, your question and figures from your inventory are processed by an AI provider. See section 4.
Device and diagnostic data. Basic technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, and crash or performance logs, used to keep the app stable.
Usage data. How you use the app and the website, such as the screens you view and the features you use, linked to your account. It does not include your photos, item details, prices, or receipts.
Website data. If you visit our website, we may collect standard analytics such as pages viewed and approximate region, through cookies.
Support messages. If you contact support, we receive your message and the contact details you provide.
We do not ask for or intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal data. Do not photograph documents or anything containing personal identifiers you would not want processed.
3. How we use your information
To run the core features: scanning, pricing, description generation, inventory tracking, receipts, and spreadsheet export.
To list your items on selling accounts you connect, such as eBay, end those listings, and mark items as sold when they sell there.
To calculate profit and other figures from the prices you enter.
To keep the app working, diagnose problems, and improve reliability.
To understand which features are used and improve them.
To create your account and provide any paid subscription you purchase.
To respond to your support requests.
To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your item photos or inventory to advertise to you.
4. AI processing and third parties
We use a small number of third-party providers to operate the app: AI providers that read photos and write listings, a market-data provider that looks up recent sale prices for an item’s title, an image-processing provider that removes photo backgrounds, and cloud hosting and storage providers. Each receives only the data needed for its task and processes it on our instructions under terms that restrict it to providing the service to us. The providers that receive your photos do not use them to train their models. Some providers process data outside your country; see section 9. You can ask us for the current list of providers at any time.
Selling marketplaces. If you connect an eBay account, we share your listing details and photos with eBay at your direction so it can publish your listings, and eBay sends us notices about your sales and your eBay account. Listings you publish are public on eBay, and eBay handles that data under its own privacy notice and user agreement. Resella is not affiliated with or endorsed by eBay.
We also share data with service providers for crash reporting, website hosting, and analytics. These providers may process data only on our instructions.
5. Where your data is stored
Your account, inventory, receipts, and item photos are stored in our cloud database and file storage, provided by Supabase, and are tied to your account so they sync across your devices. We keep this data until you delete it or delete your account. If you export a spreadsheet, that file is saved where you choose and is then under your control. We keep diagnostic and support data only as long as needed for the purpose described, then delete or anonymize it. Your connected eBay account details are kept until you disconnect the account in Settings on the website or delete your Resella account. If you delete your eBay account, eBay notifies us and we remove the connection.
6. Your choices and rights
You can manage most of your data directly in the app:
Delete your account from the Settings screen, which permanently removes your account, inventory, receipts, and photos.
Delete individual items or receipts inside the app.
Disconnect a selling account from Settings on the website, which removes its access keys and details.
Revoke camera or photo permission in your device settings.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@myresella.com. California residents have rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. Residents of the EEA and UK have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR; the legal bases we rely on are performing our contract with you, your consent where applicable, and our legitimate interest in keeping the app working.
7. Children
Resella is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International transfers
If data is processed outside your country, for example by a cloud AI or storage provider, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version with a revised effective date, and for significant changes we will provide a clearer notice.
